2023 Season News

Third time lucky

The first two games of Earl Stonham’s 1st XI campaign were abandoned due to bad weather. Play finally got underway last Saturday away at Mildenhall.

Stonham batted first scoring a decent total of 226 for 5. After tea, they also delivered with the ball, bowling out Mildenhall’s 4th XI for 186 to win their first match of the season. Debutant Jon Card and opening bat Stephen Lewis scored the majority of the runs, both just shy of a century. Ollie Foster took 4 wickets from 10.5 overs, only conceding 29 runs.

Full scorecard.

This afternoon Stonham faces Felixstowe & Corinthians 2nd XI. A lot of effort and great teamwork has already been carried out by various team members to get the ground (as pictured) prepared for what will hopefully be the first home game of the season.
