2014 Season News

Chairman’s update

The season is well under way and what a difference a year makes. The 1st XI are sitting in second place in the Two Counties Cricket Championship, Division 5, with four wins and just one defeat.
Good team performances have been the story behind this pleasing start, with contributions from everyone.

The Sunday side also chalked up their first victory with a win against Sudbury 2nd XI: another good team effort.

Coaching sessions are under way on Monday evenings under the supervision of our ‘Top Coach’ Stephen Lewis. Under-elevens come at 6 p.m. followed by the older group at 7. New youngsters are always welcome.

The ground has looked splendid for our home games so we are indebted to our groundsman for all his efforts.

We may be affected over the next week or two by the recent monsoon conditions, given that the ground, particularly the outfield, is very slow to dry because of its spongy nature.
Let’s hope the Summer arrives soon!
