Stonham off to slow start as Wrinch, Fenning and Crane shine
The season is underway and both Stonham teams have started slowly but positively. After narrowly losing their first game of the season the Saturday side has conjured up one
victory so far, defeating Bury St Edmunds III by a whopping amount of runs.
Harry Wrinch and Sam Fenning (shown smashing a ball to leg side in the inset below) were the star performers scoring 127 (Wrinch) and 79 (Fenning) respectively.
The second team have played with good spirit and last Sunday they won handsomely against newly promoted Bardwell II. Sixteen year old Alex Crane, who recently stepped up to the senior cricket after coming through the Stonham junior acadamy, took an incredible six wickets!
Stephen Lewis hit an unbeaten 52 to help Stonham finish the game off.
This weekend the Saturday side have an away trip to Harwich & Dovercourt and the Sunday side are away at Battisford & District CC.
