Storer six-fer
Last weekend the second team won in destructive fashion away against Thurston, bowling the home side out for just 55 runs. Paul Storer (pictured) took six wickets conceding only 30 runs, incredibly just 1 run short of his all time best figures of 6-29.
Stonham’s fielding was equally as impressive as the bowling. Tom Edgar (keeping wicket) and Stephen Lewis are now possible contenders for this season’s Magic Moment Award, after taking some remarkable reaction catches. Jake Dye and Scott Martin wrapped-up victory, knocking off the runs by three o’clock in the afternoon!
The Saturday side lost at home against St Oysth. The away side won the toss and elected to bat on a fantastic batting track. Ant Stowe looked most likely to dispatch one of St Osyth’s top order batsmen after finding the inside edge on three occasions. St Oysth’s top order batsmen rode their luck and batted very impressively, leaving Stonham a very difficult task of scoring 304 runs to win.
Stonham started well with Luke Edgar finding some form with the bat, but once he was dismissed the run chase soon became to steep a mountain to climb. Stonahm finished on 202-5.
