2020 Season News

Cricket gradually up-and-running

Since the Coronavirus worldwide pandemic, most competitive sport, including cricket, has had to pause for a while. Despite the 2020 cricket season being delayed, members of Earl Stonham CC have been keeping in touch via various social communication channels, taking part in quizzes, playing virtual cricket online against other local teams, and keeping the ground trim and proper.

This Friday, club members are planning to take part in the first net session of the season, following Government safety guidelines. Below is an official message from Club Captain, Luke Edgar:

Following the Government’s announcement and allowance from the ECB we can begin Net Practice on Friday evenings.

The sessions will be broken up into small groups and meet times staggered, social distancing will be observed at all times.

Every player will be designated a ball (which they will keep for future net sessions) and will use there own equipment, hand sanitiser and wash facilities will be made available.

If interested in joining one of these sessions please contact me on: 07794599402.

The net practice sessions will run every Friday from 16:00-18:30.

Hopefully the ‘dimmer switch’ for all activities will continue to brighten and we’ll see cricket matches at some point later this summer.
