    Lucy close to completing fundraising challenge

    To show her support for ESCC during the unprecedented 2020 season, friend of the club Lucy Wilcox is close to completing a challenge to run 93.09 miles in June. Why this number, you ask? A distance of 93.09 miles is equivalent to 22 yards (the length of a cricket pitch) for every run scored by Earl Stonham in 2019 (4887 runs) plus a mile for every year since the club reformed in 1988.     Cricket gradually up-and-running

    Since the Coronavirus worldwide pandemic, most competitive sport, including cricket, has had to pause for a while. Despite the 2020 cricket season being delayed, members of Earl Stonham CC have been keeping in touch via various social communication channels, taking part in quizzes, playing virtual cricket online against other local teams, and keeping the ground trim and proper.
