Dates for pre-season nets and fixtures are now set for the 2022 season. This year, Stonham’s Saturday side face some fresh challenges in division 6 of the Two Counties league. Some of the new venues they’ll travel to include Felixstowe, Woodbridge and Sudbourne Hall. The Sunday side will be competing in division 2 of the Hunts County Bats League.  They are due to face some new opposition as well, including Castle Hedingham, who play at the Castle Ground.

Talking of grounds, Stonham’s pitch is taking shape very nicely. Thanks go once again to the wonderful efforts of the club’s groundsman, Simon Edgar, and various other club members who continuously help contribute to the various jobs involved, such as cutting the grass, maintaining equipment, trimming back shrubbery, and not to forget Neil Stowe for his grand efforts at repairing and fine-tuning various bits of machinery.

Two pre-season practice sessions are booked already at Bury St Edmunds Cricket Club, starting from Sunday 13th March.  More details can be found on the practice page.  As ever, Stonham encourage all existing members to attend as many sessions as possible and also welcome any fresh faces interested in playing some competitive and friendly village cricket in 2022!  Please get in touch if you’re interested in joining in.
