Eade century gets Stonham’s 2nd XI off to a flying start
On Sunday Scott Eade joined his father, David, in the exclusive “ESCC century club” by scoring exactly 100 not out against East Bergholt Academy. With only a few balls remaining the crowd were tense as Eade, batting with Ian Turner, made a diving lunge for the crease to secure the final run needed for his century. The four bowlers (Taylor Thorpe, Paul Storer, Sean High and Scott Martin) all took wickets and bowled very economically, eventually bowling a well spirited East Bergholt youth team out for under one hundred runs. The pick of the bunch was Scott Martin, taking a total of four wickets. A good day for Scotts! The Sunday side has a break on the up-and-coming bank holiday weekend, but the first team has matches on Saturday and Monday.
