Dye’s flying high with back-to-back tons
Jake Dye scored his second century in two weeks, helping the Sunday side beat Lakenheath II. The scoreline was very similar to the previous week’s match. Sam Fenning was unbeaten again, this time making 77 not out. Bowling-wise, Jordan Dye took an impressive four wickets and Paul Storer returned to form bowling economically taking two wickets for 29 runs.
Fenning also tidied things up by dismissing three of Lakenheath’s middle and tail order batsmen. The second XI are now sitting at the top of division 4 of the Hunts County Bats league on maximum points with Hadleigh CC.
The Saturday side lost again, but still managed to collect seven points as a consolation against a strong Stowmarket side, due to a good effort all round. Stonham welcomed new member Ant Stowe, who like his twin brother Steve in the previous week’s game, managed to take three wickets. Stonham currently sit fourth from bottom on 16 points.
