Dye colours the cricket field in 90 balls
Last Sunday, Jake Dye scored Stonham’s second highest individual score in the club’s history helping the Sunday XI beat Freston. Dye gracefully smashed 176 from 90 balls, scoring 29 fours and 8 sixes, with a whopping strike rate of 195.56.
Dye’s achievement nudges him past Stonham’s former colossal all-rounder, Charlie Tunstall, by just one run. Club legend, Paul Adams, who smashed 181 in the last century, still holds onto the record; an exceptional knock for way back then.
Today, the team travels to Battisford for a ‘local derby’ match.
Yesterday, the Saturday team extended their lead at the top of the table with a win over Boxted, sitting 24 points ahead of second place Acton.
